The Fund reimburses 75 percent of premiums paid for National Insurance Schemes that are similar to the U.S. Medicare program. The Fund does not require enrollment in a national health scheme for retirees who live outside of the U.S. As noted, the health insurance must be sponsored by the national government. Proof of payment, coverage, and documentation showing national government sponsorship is required. Reimbursements are paid by the Fund on an annual basis. To submit a request for reimbursement, the Retiree Application for Reimbursement of National Health Scheme Premiums must be completed.
