Introduction of an Independent Health Advocate The Health Advocate is a new resource that will help retirees navigate medical services, address questions about their healthcare options, and most of all assist in addressing claim issues. The independent advocate will serve as a neutral party dedicated to representing your interests, clarifying medical information, helping you understand treatment options, interceding with the claim administrator as needed, and facilitating communication between you and healthcare providers. This service is available to all retirees and their dependents no matter where they reside or seek service. This service is included at no additional cost as an integral part of the Fund Medical Benefits Plan. Please note that for those attempting to register from outside the U.S. the system currently does not allow for overseas telephone numbers. Once this issue is addressed you will be able to use the Fund’s 20431 zip code to continue the registration process. However, you can email or call for assistance to Health Advocate with the registration process as you do not need to be registered to utilize their services. Please see the full text of the announcement and other resources on the MBP General Information page. |
